Belgorod branch of CenterTelecom is the biggest fixed line telecommunications operator in Belgorod region. It joined CenterTelecom in 2002. The branch supplies a wide range of telecommunications services and Internet access to individual subscribers, corporate customers and state organizations in the region. The branch employs over 1,500 people.
History of telephone service in Belgorod region dates back over 100 years. It began on October 15, 1903 when a telephone switchboard for 100 numbers and first telephone line between Belgorod and Kharkov were installed.

Belgorod region's strategic goal in telecommunications is not just provision of new services to subscribers but also creation of a united information and communications space for fixed line telephony subscribers. For this purpose the branch is implementing modern technologies and standards for integrated telecommunications systems which brings together switching equipment, traffic networks, data transmission networks, intelligent networks, telecommunications management and radio broadcasting networks.
Belgorod branch has played an important role in development of telecommunications in Belgorod region. It provides services to more than 380,000 subscribers of fixed line telephony and around 52,000 users of data transmission and Internet access services. The branch provides all types of telecommunications services including telephone communications, construction of corporate networks, Internet access, IP telephony, data transmission and wireline radio broadcasting. The branch is also developing multi-service and SDH networks and radio access systems. Currently, one in four residents of Belgorod region is a branch subscriber. The branch provides telecommunications services in 1,423 localities in the region.
CenterTelecom's Belgorod branch sees implementation of next generation services as one of its priorities. For this purpose the branch is expanding its traffic infrastructure and modernizing its networks using IP technology.
Multi-service and data transmission networks built by the branch in all districts of the region support the provision not only of traditional telephony services but also of a full range of data transmission services including various types of Internet access, IP telephony, multimedia services, access to information services, and multiuser videoconferencing. The branch plans to launch TV broadcasting services, video on demand and other services.
The Belgorod branch provides services to 12,305 corporate clients, 347 of them major organizations. Among them are industrial companies, educational institutions, regional and districts' administrations, retail chains and financial organizations. All local telephone operators are connected to Belgorod branch's public telephone network. Many Internet providers operating in Belgorod region use services provided by Belgorod branch of CenterTelecom including interconnection to its data transmission network and Internet access. Thus CenterTelecom is the main telecommunications company in the region.
