Verhnevolzhskiy (Upper Volga)
branch of CenterTelecom was formed in 2004 from Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo branches, each of which had been part of CenterTelecom since 2002.
Verhnevolzhskiy branch history began in 1860 when the first telegram was sent from Yaroslavl to Moscow and Rybinsk. In Kostroma and Ivanovo telecommunication services were launched slightly later, in the 1880s and 1890s.
Currently Verhnevolzhskiy branch successfully operates in all segments of telecommunication market and provides a full range of modern telecommunication services to individual and corporate customers in Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions. Services include:

Verhnevolzhskiy branch of CenterTelecom is a socially responsible business and implements a wide range of social programs in Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions. The branch is investing heavily into installation of telephone lines for veterans of World War II. The branch has also implemented federal programs for provision of Internet access in the regional schools and provision of universal telecommunication service in all localities of the regions.
Verhnevolzhskiy branch includes 11 divisions with 3,300 employees. As of June 30, 2009 the branch had 237 telephone lines per employee; its installed capacity amounted to 784,694 numbers, its equipped capacity reached 732,766 numbers; there are 27.7 telephone numbers for every 100 inhabitants of the regions. Level of local telephone network digitalization is 67.9%. Installed capacity of branch's automated exchanges is 532,897 numbers. The branch served 85,642 Internet users and 33,551 CDMA mobile communications subscribers.
