The Upper Volga branch of CenterTelecom was formed in 2004 from the Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo branches, each of which had been part of CenterTelecom since 2002.
The Upper Volga branch's history began in 1860 when the first telegram was sent from Yaroslavl to Moscow and Rybinsk. In Kostroma and Ivanovo telecommunications services were launched slightly later, in the 1880s and 1890s.
Currently the Upper Volga branch successfully operates in all segments of the telecommunications market and provides a full range of modern telecommunications services to individual and corporate customers in the Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions. Services include:
1. High speed Internet access:

through optic fiber line – Domolink -FTTx, ETHERNET (up to 100 Mbps);

mobile Internet - Sky Link (up to 2.4 Mbps).

3. Construction of IP/VPN and digital telecommunications network channels joining multiple offices into a unified information network.
The Upper Volga branch of CenterTelecom is a socially responsible business and implements a wide range of social programs in the Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions. The branch is investing heavily into the installation of telephone lines for veterans of World War II. The branch has also implemented federal programs for the provision of Internet access in the regional schools and provision of universal telecommunications service in all localities of the regions.
The Upper Volga branch includes 11 divisions with 3,300 employees. As of June 30, 2009 the branch had 237 telephone lines per employee; its installed capacity amounted to 784,694 numbers, its equipped capacity reached 732,766 numbers; there are 27.7 telephone numbers for every 100 inhabitants of the regions. The level of the local telephone network's digitalization is 67.9%. The installed capacity of branch's automated exchanges is 532,897 numbers. The branch served 85,642 Internet users and 33,551 CDMA mobile communications subscribers.
